Class description
Program goal:
Help young writers develop writing, multimedia design and new literacy skills that are essential for them to become successful writers in the digital age
Program features:

A digital portfolio for the publication of student writings & videos

Real world/Practical topics for the authentic audience

Kids are active agents in the writing program and their communities

Integrates multimedia/new literacy skills needed in the digital age; media literacy and soft skills development

Project-based and competency-based: application of the informational/descriptive/narrative/argumentative writing skills to the real world projects

Creativity is at the core of the program design
Sample lesson topics and student deliverables/end-products for the real world writing projects:
- Brochure/flyer for print or social media for an upcomping book club event
- Advertisement video for a Non-profit Sponsorship Campaign
- E-Newsletter for a club
- Press release for a student-written book/poetry anthology
- Email an book reivew to an author

- Our teachers are published authors and university teachers graduated from/teach at Harvard, UC Berkeley and UT Austin.
- Leading experts as guest speakers on media literacy and new literacies skills for the young writers, e.g. video editing, graphic design, social media campaign, etc.
- Curriculum designed by Dr. Jiang Pu, Founder of NextGen Edu and former CCO of a Silicon Valley-based Ed company. She collaborated with university faculties in the School of Business from San Jose State University and Stanford University on business-related topics.
