Do you want to learn 3D modeling and print beyond TinkerCad?  This interactive Zoom class is a great start for student to learn Fusion 360 in a team environment and build their creative talent.

When : 

Session 1: June 28 - July 9 (11AM -NOON, M-F )

Session 2: June 28 - July 9 (2PM-3PM, M-F)

Grade : 3-8

 

 

  • Description

    This is a 2 weeks online program designed to get students to learn 3D printing and build their creative talent. The course is designed for those who are already familiar with TinkerCad and wish to advance their skills.  We'll quickly refresh on basic concepts of 3D printing and TinkerCad.  Then we'll dive into parametric modeling using Fusion 360 from Autodesk.  This couse is designed for students to work as a team towards a final tournament project.

    At the end of each class, students will be encouraged to improve their designs based on what they've learned during the class.  They will also be encouraged to research on their own approaches.

     

    Prerequisite:

     

    Students should have their own laptop (Windows or Mac.  No Chromebook).

     

  • Schedule

    Day 1: Quick refresh with 3D Printing and TinkerCad

    Day 2: Quick Fusion 360 walkthrough.  Students account setup

    Day 3: F360: Sketch, Plane, Line, Spline, Revolve.  (make a spinning top)

    Day 4: F360: Offset-Plane, Loft (make a vase)

    Day 5: F360: Extrude, Components (make a box w/fitted lid)

    Day 6: Team project overview and team assignment.  Round 0 design

    Day 7: Round 0 design continued (print round 0 designs for students and test them out !!)

    Day 8: Design for quarter-final tournament

    Day 9: Quarter-final.  And update designs for Final tournament

    Day 10: Final Tournament

  • Camp Instructor

    Raymond currently works as a senior software engineer at a startup company. He has 20+ years of experience in the industry.  He developed a passion of teaching 3D Designs to children while working as an enrichment teacher at his son’s school and also at various camps in the Bay Area.

    Full refunds are given only when a class  is canceled .

    Summer Camps must be cancelled on or before June 14, 2021 .A $20 Cancellation Fee Per Activity Per Person will be deducted from the refund.5 business days notice is required for any refunds to be considered
